The work that we do is aligned with our mission and we see the direct impact we have. There are a number of grants and projects that have come to fruition in the past several months which gives us further purpose and a direction forward. Our strategic priorities remain supporting the communities we serve with affordable housing, investing in closing the racial wealth gap and reducing the impact of climate change by financing affordable, energy-efficient housing.
We talk about them often. Our values are: Accountability, Respect, Excellence, Collaboration and Commitment. Our employees, regardless of their functional expertise, are committed to the mission of the company around affordable housing, closing the racial wealth gap and investing in the green economy.
Our CEO leads by example, and his dedication and commitment are evident in everything he does. For example, he led the successful creation of a coalition with two outside firms to service the rent-stabilized portion of Signature Bank’s multifamily commercial real estate portfolio. He also led the creation of a coalition for Climate United, which resulted in the award of just under $7 billion. CPC was also the recipient of an unsolicited $15M award from MacKenzie Scott’s Yield Giving fund, which allows us to continue to do the work and support the communities we serve.
We conduct annual engagement surveys, we hold quarterly town halls with an open question segment, we have a DEI council which asks for anonymous feedback at the end of each event through a CultureAmp pulse survey. We ensure that we communicate any changes made and make the connection to specific feedback that we have received.
Working together through cross functional / inter departmental projects and initiatives. We have had a number of recent, large projects that have required work from numerous departments.
We have numerous meeting rooms at our head office, along with an open pantry/kitchen area at the center to foster impromptu conversations.
From a technical point of view, we utilize SharePoint, Webex and Teams.
We offer a generous vacation policy that ranges from a minimum of three weeks up to five weeks, depending on seniority and tenure. All positions are eligible for a bonus, which is fairly rare for a non-profit organization. CPC covers a high percentage of medical insurance premiums for all tiers of employees. We also offer salary continuation for short-term disability and parental leave for eligible employees.
