Six Degrees Group

Why Six Degrees Group IS A MOST LOVED WORKPLACE®

Systemic Collaboration

EMPLOYEES COLLABORATE THROUGHOUT OUR COMPANY BY …

Collaboration is at the heart of how we work!
In our fully hybrid working world, we collaborate in person and remotely over MS Teams. We collaborate within teams and departments, and in Business Unit (where every stage of our customer journey is aligned to a single Executive for clarity of role and purpose). We collaborate in working groups and in tiger teams and on projects. Our cross-functional teams come together frequently, with Executive, Senior Leadership and wider leadership teams collaborating on where we are, where we want to be and how we will achieve progress together. We are currently spearheading a transformation project to ensure team structure and process enable optimal performance end-to-end.
And we collaborate in interest groups: for example our 360 Degrees social committee, our Women In Tech group, our Minority Awareness and Progression Committee, or also our online gaming community: we look for every opportunity to unlock the passion and potential of our people by bringing them together.

Positive Vision of the Future

EMPLOYEES AT OUR COMPANY HAVE A POSITIVE VISION FOR THE FUTURE BECAUSE …

We’re all on the same journey. Six Degrees, in addition to growing organically, has a unique edge because of its history of strategic acquisition. Our people have come from diverse backgrounds and together, we’ve defined how these can be applied to the opportunities in the market today as we see them: cloud technologies, an ultra-secure technological environment and the ability to work with maximum agility in a post-covid world. Even as we support our clients through their digital transformations, together we’re working through our own, latest evolution, ensuring that every single aspect of our organisation, end to end, is optimised: it has never been clearer exactly what role each person plays in our shared success, how we will achieve it together, and how it can reward them personally and professionally.

Company Respect

WE SHOW RESPECT AND ENSURE THAT ALL VOICES ARE HEARD AND IDEAS ARE VALUED THROUGHOUT THE COMPANY BY …

We believe in transparency. Every week we share our thoughts via the ‘Friday Pulse’ platform: publicly sharing celebrations, thanks, frustrations and ideas. Frustrations are picked up and workshopped to create routes to better ways of working. Similarly, we share the outcomes of our quarterly Culture Profile, celebrating the big wins and working with our people to implement plans to make this a (more) brilliant place to work. Each month, the Executive team engages with our people directly via our All Hands meetings on their thoughts, ideas and feedback with the consistent message: we are one Six Degrees.
Our people repeatedly tell us that that one of the qualities they most admire about Six Degrees is that we have created an environment where every person is safe to be themselves, which is free from bullying, harassment and undesirable behaviour of any sort, where they can share their thoughts and be accepted. Of course, through our “Speak Up” programme, anyone who raises whistleblowing/concerns is encouraged and protected.

Company Support / Killer Outcomes

WE SUPPORT OUR EMPLOYEES IN ACHIEVING THEIR PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL GOALS BY …

From onboarding, we provide a structured introduction with a host of in-person and online learning to help new joiners land on their feet. In our quarterly review process, we work with each of our employees to identify and plan for the development they need to be successful in their current role – and to identify and plan for their next one. We support these structured plans through a mix of on-the-job learning, workshops, mentoring vocational certifications and apprenticeships, professional qualifications, and with time off for study. We also run Executive development programmes, such as our Peak 6 programme. We’ve set ourselves an ‘internal progression’ target to ensure that, each quarter, Six Degrees employees have plenty of opportunity to advance into new challenges.
To support our people’s success outside of work, in addition to the very regular schedule of workshops and webinars to support physical and mental wellbeing and personal performance, we have a generous policy base to support people in best managing their priorities.

Alignment of Values

OUR COMPANY’S VALUES ARE ALIGNED WITH OUR EMPLOYEES BECAUSE …

We aim to live our values: they are embodied into all of our people processes. Our values are reflected in our talent attraction processes by forming the basis of our behavioural interviewing questioning, identifying shared values amongst potential employees. They are reflected in our objective-setting and performance review processes, where employees ensure that their quarterly priorities are aligned with the values and, each quarter, assess the degree to which they have exhibited our values, our Six Degrees of Success. All individual performance priorities are aligned with group-level priorities, which are also mapped to corporate values. Our quarterly Above and Beyond Awards call out those employees who have best exhibited those values, role modelling for others our view of ‘excellence’ and creating an example for others to follow.

Company Practices / Love

PROGRAMS AND PRACTICES WE GIVE TO OUR EMPLOYEES THAT CREATE A LOVED WORKPLACE ARE …

Our teams love to collaborate, and our quarterly Above and Beyond Awards reward employees who not only achieve individually, but teams that had delivered outstanding results together. Our people also love to work with the wider community – our quarterly For The Benefit of Others award goes to outstanding charitable contributions, and many of our people participate in the Future Frontiers programme, providing careers guidance to youths from disadvantaged backgrounds. These programmes are supported by time off to focus on other priorities (for example charitable work or a sabbatical) – but just as importantly by our full suite of family-friendly policies that reflect our commitment to attracting female talent into the tech sector (including guaranteed interviews for females) and supporting their development. Having said that, the full range of career paths and learning and development routes we have set for our people are one of the key draws for our people – our commitment to helping them to learn and develop. We also have a full suit of agile and flexible working policies to support people in achieving balance in their life. Plus there’s the Fun Fund – a budget to ensure our people can get to know each other outside of work, too!

CEO Strengths

OUR CEO SERVES AS A MODEL OF OUR COMPANY VALUES BY …

Our CEO, Simon Crawley-Trice, is the driving engine for our company values: our Six Degrees of Success. Simon encourages our people to come together, share knowledge and experience, learn from each other, innovate and take action to help each other ‘go beyond’.
A charismatic, driven individual, he leads by example, acting passionately to ensure that we are keeping our eyes on the client and putting them at the heart of everything we do. This means that, at every opportunity, he is holding our people, our managers, and our leadership team to account to challenge thinking and the status quo, to take ownership of what we can change and deliver for our clients, to realise what is possible, and ultimately to create value for Six Degrees’ and our clients.

Benefits

EXAMPLES OF UNIQUE BENEFITS, BONUS, OR COMPENSATION WE PROVIDE ARE …

Six Degrees’ benefits offering reflects our genuine desire to see our people thrive inside and outside of work: we want our people to flourish in every aspect of their lives. In addition to a full suite of wellbeing-related benefits (premium private medical, gym memberships, dental, a range of insurance coverage and enhanced holiday – including your birthday!), we have other measures to support our people in being their best: this includes paid study support for professional qualifications, paid time off for charitable and giving-back activities, and sabbatical leave for those who want to pursue outside interests. We are passionate about increasing female representation in technology, so have additional benefits tailored towards women, for example including paid menopause leave.
At Six Degrees, we pride ourselves on going above and beyond for every customer: so of course we have our quarterly Above and Beyond Awards, which reward our employees and teams who have really delivered.
