About Coverflex
Coverflex is a compensation management solution that brings together every part of employee compensation beyond salary. Benefits, insurance, meal allowance and discounts all rolled into one product. For companies, it’s a way to easily give people more options and value, improving employee quality of life and the company’s bottom line. For employees, it’s the opportunity to unlock more value and create a custom compensation package that anyone can spend as they choose. Long-term, we’re working towards becoming the place where compensation happens and is managed by those who award and receive it. We’re on our way to coining the term “Compensation-as-a-service”.
How employees collaborate
As a fully remote company, our team stays super connected and collaborative no matter where they are. They use their Remote Work budget to meet at coworking spaces for in-person sessions when needed, and keep daily communication flowing through Slack. Notion is our go-to platform for organizing projects, sharing knowledge, and keeping everyone on the same page. Our team members are always quick to jump in and help others, even when it’s outside their job scope. They’re proactive, regularly asking, “Who needs help with what?” to make sure no one feels stuck or left behind. This keeps us moving forward together.
A positive vision for the future
Employees at our company have a positive vision for the future because we truly believe in what we’re building. Our core values, especially our commitment to social and environmental sustainability, keep us grounded and driven. We’re not just creating a product—we’re building something that we believe can contribute to social justice and make a real impact. This shared belief motivates us to push forward, knowing that what we do matters. It’s this combination of passion, purpose, and belief in our product that keeps our outlook on the future positive and full of hope.
How values are demonstrated
Our company values are aligned with our employees because we continuously listen and adapt. Our core principles—People first, think big & be bold, work smart, default to transparency, decide and act fast, build, win, and learn together—are at the heart of what we do. We recently conducted a culture assessment to ensure these values still resonate with our team. This gave everyone the opportunity to share their thoughts and feelings about our direction. Based on their feedback, we made meaningful adjustments, keeping our values closely aligned with what matters most to our employees.
How employees are respected
We show respect and ensure all voices are heard and ideas are valued by regularly engaging with our team. We conduct frequent engagement surveys and culture audits to gather honest feedback, and the People team holds quarterly wellbeing check-ins to make sure everyone feels supported. Our Leadership is highly participative, engaging directly with employees and valuing their input. Our core principles—default to transparency and build, win, and learn together—support the idea that everyone’s voice matters. This open dialogue ensures that all ideas contribute to the company’s direction, and we adjust based on feedback.
How employees are supported
We support our employees in achieving their professional and personal goals by offering a range of resources and flexibility. Each team member has a Personal Development Budget of 2000€ per year to invest in their growth. We offer flexible remote working, allowing employees to work from anywhere. To prioritize mental health and well-being, we provide three Caring Days annually, which can be used for self-care, rest, or personal needs or to volunteer at an institutuin of their choice. Our internal Knowledge Hubs offer courses, resources, and information, while our sync-Learning Circles bring in external trainers and speakers to inspire continuous learning. We’re committed to helping our team thrive both professionally and personally.
How leadership demonstrates values
Our CEO serves as a model of our company values by leading with transparency, inclusivity, and bold vision. Highly engaged with employees, our CEO actively participates in discussions, valuing every voice and encouraging open dialogue. He embodies our “People first” philosophy by prioritizing employee well-being, from supporting mental health initiatives to fostering a flexible, remote-first work environment. Our CEO also champions bold thinking and fast decision-making, pushing the company to innovate and grow while staying true to our core values. A good example of this is Coverflex being one of the first companies in Portugal to have a Menstrual Leave. By leading with purpose and passion, our CEO inspires the team to embrace our mission and make a meaningful impact together.

Pandemic response
During the pandemic, as a remote-first company, we were already fully adapted to remote work, so no major adjustments were needed in that aspect. Our health insurance covers both employees and their immediate families, ensuring access to medical care when needed. We created a Mental Health Knowledge Hub, filled with resources, and a dedicated Slack channel where information and support are shared regularly. Additionally, we partnered with a Psychological Support platform, providing our employees free access to specialists for mental health support during these challenging times. Our focus was on keeping everyone supported and informed.
