Why is Aim Transportation Solutions a Most Loved Workplace®?

Employees at our company have a positive vision for the future because of our company’s near 100 years of financial stability and growth have proven Aim as a staple in America’s supply chain. While other companies open and close, Aim stands strong with roots deeply grown into the communities where we operate. Each Aim employee has transparency to the future of the company through our bi-annual “Aim Talks”, a town-hall virtual session where our ownership and upper management discuss the state and future of the company and field questions. We also have quarterly employee newsletters where have a “letter from Ownership” that discusses the future of Aim.

We’re a family owned and operated company and we put family first. Employees are treated with kindness, compassion, and like family members. Moreover, each employee has a voice and is heard. Their values are not only respected but they’re integrated into the fiber of the company as we evolve. I think Aim’s quickness to adapt and react to feedback is one of our strengths as an employer.
Our corporate core values are the foundation of our culture: Integrity, Trust, Accountability, and Commitment. We incorporate these values into every aspect of our culture and daily work lives.

Aim has big business capabilities and small company values. It’s this attitude that we use to convey our big business services.

From the bottom of my heart, I can tell you that I’ve never met a better person, leader, or CEO than Aim’s – Tom Fleming. He is truly everything that a leader should be. He is fair, sharp-minded, kind, and his ability to see the big picture is second to none. If he tells you something, you can trust it to be the truth without question. You could never meet a man that is less of a hypocrite than our CEO, Tom Fleming. He’s inspirational.
The values that Tom Fleming holds permeate throughout every Aim facility, throughout the Aim Family (employees), and serve to make us all work happily for a dream that we believe in: Aim Transportation Solutions.

A top to bottom company open door policy. Whether you want to talk to a driver, a middle manager, or our CEO you’re welcome to do so. This isn’t something that is just said, but something that is true. I have went in to discuss many matters with our ownership and upper management throughout my career. I am always listened to and thanked for input.
We have annual employment satisfaction surveys through Staymetrics where employees can provide feedback and their voices can be heard. We also have open forum discussions with upper management and ownership in most-to-all of the collaboration mentioned in the collaboration section of this profile.

We’re a highly collaborative company. My team specifically has 3 meeting each week to brainstorm and update each other since we’re a mostly remote department. We also have formal programs in place to foster collaboration:
• Weekly Aim Continuing Education (ACE) sessions for sales and rental to join and collaborate
• Annual Employee appreciation luncheons at each facility
• Annual open houses to have our employees and customers at each facility
• Annual Safety Week – where each department meets daily to discuss a safety topic
• Biannual sales meetings with entire sales and executive staff
• Annual Maintenance Meeting with maintenance leadership staff (over 100 attendees)
• Annual Integrated Incentive Trip
• Technician and Driver rewards programs
• Biannual sales meetings with entire sales and executive staff
I could keep going – we get together frequently and collaboration is encouraged and celebrated.

We have a rewards program for both drivers and mechanics that center around their tenure with the company, safety, training.
Comprehensive benefit package that helps us with recruiting. Our condition management program helps them communicate with a nurse to keep them on track and more aware of their health. Probably our newest benefit is the Financial Wellness Program that helps educate them on their personal finances and it is all done online.
Our compensation is very competitive because we do wage studies for the area they are working and for the jobs they are doing. Most people will always say they can make more but truly we make sure that we are competitive.
Training and development, as they say knowledge is power. Other than mandated training there is training for leadership skills and some soft skill training.
