To propel our work forward, our DE&I Stewards leadership team solicits input from associates at all levels and across all departments to ensure their thought process and work are tracking with the sentiments and priorities of our workforce. To create connection and continue educating our team, we established 5 Community@Express groups with the objective of fostering ongoing dialogue, creating greater understanding and belonging, and strengthening connectivity among our associates, leaders and DE&I Stewards.

We have done a great deal to deepen and advance our thinking and programming around DE&I. We are committed to seeking out, embracing different experiences, approaches and points of view – all woven throughout our DE&I strategy, content and activations. Through our Big Brothers Big Sisters of America partnership, we provide mentorship opportunities to support our Dream Big Project. These elevate our partnership pillar and allow associates to volunteer in mentorship opportunities, including Photo Studio Tours, Career Exploration Sessions and Empowerment Camps. We also introduced two new development programs, Director Immersion and Vice President: Leading for Organizational Impact, that are investments in the growth and development of our people leaders.
Over the past year, CEO Tim Baxter hosted the Create Confidence Tour where he visited 26 cities, spent time with 750 Store leaders and shared more about our EXPRESSway Forward Strategy and transformation from a store in the mall to a brand with a purpose powered by a styling community. This is a true testament of how he lives our brand purpose and prioritizes connecting directly with our associates and stores. Flex@Express: Our hybrid solution to create a more flexible working environment that includes variable start times, ability to work offsite and flexible paid time off.
Work from Away: Annual three-week period where Corporate associates can work from anywhere—the beach, Parisian café or friend’s home.
Parental Leave: Enhanced leave increased amount of fully paid time off to six-eight weeks and provides all parents with four weeks of bonding following birth or adoption.
Employee and Education Assistance: Expanded bereavement policy that includes miscarriages and pets, tuition reimbursement increased to $5,250 annual maximum amount for undergraduate and graduate courses or certifications.
