Whenever someone encounters a problem, we have a wide pool of internal experts who our team can connect with to receive assistance with the matter. Our team has an unparalleled knowledge of the SBA space and our senior management is regarded as thought leaders in our field. Additionally, over the past two years, Fountainhead made 300,000 Paycheck Protection Program loans for almost $5 billion in financing and became the sixth most active PPP lender in America. This would not have been possible without extreme collaboration and flexibility from the whole team.
We’re at the forefront of helping entrepreneurs follow their dreams by providing the financing they need. Through our expert financial services, our team is able to provide real solutions to real business owners throughout the country. Our hard work has saved hundreds of thousands of American jobs, and we are growing to achieve even higher numbers.
We trust our team to know what it is doing. Whether it’s suggesting the best solution to approaching a problem or pointing out something with the potential to turn into a roadblock, our employees are able to have their voices heard. Our experts are leaders in the industry, and our team respects each other’s voices and opinions. Furthermore, as a small team, we have a great deal of communication with each other and often collaborate to address our communal problems. We utilize our staff-wide Teams chat daily for solutions for these types of problems.
We provide ample opportunities for growth and development. Through our autonomous model, employees are able to manage themselves and develop leadership opportunities they would not have had otherwise. We also encourage industry development through training – we believe anyone can learn the industry as long as they have the right attitude. When this leads to a new hire with little knowledge on the SBA, we will take the time to teach our employee whatever they need to know in order to succeed.
Fountainhead's mission is to provide the smartest, fastest, and most comprehensive financing possible to the small business community, whether it’s helping companies get back on their feet during economic hardship or helping to grow businesses to new heights. Our employees are a key part of that, and they are able to follow their own personal values through work at Fountainhead. Working with small businesses nationwide to provide crucial financing to follow their dreams is something most of our employees find very fulfilling on a personal and professional level.
Our key differentiator is the level of trust we have in our employees. We encourage an inclusive workplace built on communication and trust, bypassing managerial red tape and unnecessary policies. Our employees enjoy extreme autonomy, showcasing the trust management places in every hire. This culture of trust also develops self-leadership for employees, which is encouraged as part of professional growth within the company. Additionally, we’ve brought in speakers to talk on a wide variety of personal and professional topics. We know our team has a life outside work and want them develop personally along with growth at Fountainhead.
At Fountainhead, CEO Chris Hurn built his team based on work ethic, attitude and coachability. Chris believes team fit and ability to learn come first and has instilled a deep culture of trust in the office, believing each employee can be trusted to do their jobs and do them well. Chris acts as an example, juggling speed, meticulousness, and humor every day and sets the tone for our interactions. Thanks to our open and well-founded work culture Chris started, employees know they are integral parts of the team.
At the end of the year, we organized a company-wide retreat, which included all team members flying in from eight other states. We spent most of the week at EPCOT and Disney World on educational tours, brought in educational speakers, and also spent time bonding and having a lot of fun. Additionally, in the era of work from home, we continue our in-office tradition of providing lunch for employees through Uber Eats gift cards. Finally, we incentivized our employees to take a break with four-figure “vacation gift cards.” These gift cards could be used on anything during an employee’s day off, and we enjoy hearing what different team members used these funds for.
Fountainhead is one of only 14 SBA-approved nationwide, nonbank, direct commercial lending firms specializing in funding commercial real estate projects and providing growth financing for small businesses utilizing SBA 7(a), SBA 504, low LTV conventional loans.
