For example, our recent ESG action committee is a mix of people from around the business and their role is not necessarily part of the project, our engagement survey allows honest and transparent feedback on ideas to move our business forward. We are creating more opportunities for our people’s suggestions to be actioned with their involvement each day.

We have recently changed the way we communicated and on the back of our people feedback, the business strategy is clear, talked about at every opportunity and transparent throughout the business. We are started an annual appraisal process where individual goals are aligned to the business strategy (VPD) so that everyone understand show they impact our results. We now feedback to our people on a quarterly basis an update on the business and the different departments, each month, different board members are part of that session, we openly ask for feedback and questions following these sessions.

Our engagement survey provided the annual opportunity to share opinions, thoughts ad suggestions, but we do have an open policy where suggests are encourage to their line manager or the manager of the relevant department. We do ask for our people’s opinions before making a change, we then provide updates using ‘You said, we do’. All suggestions are reviewed, and we provide updates on a regular frequency of their status.

We have created several opportunities for our people to develop in generally areas that would benefit their day job and outside of work, like excel, Microsoft teams and PowerPoint. We train our people with additional technical skills to support the growth of our business and from a wellbeing. Our wellbeing strategy offers those who want to be formally trained as a MHFAs, to support our people and the communities they live in. We are in the middle of creating our succession plans and supporting growth framework, this will highlight opportunities for our people to develop into senior roles over time.
