using a number of tools such as Slack, Asana, Domo, Confluence, and many other platforms. They also gather to share ideas when developing our roadmaps as well as putting their ideas into actions when we hold hackathons. We also believe that they easily share their ideas by asking great questions during our bi-weekly company update meeting.
they are aligned with our mission of putting the world's 1.5B cars to better use. They understand that our platform provides an amazing entrepreneurial opportunity for those who are looking to generate additional income and/or to grow a great business. As we are currently operating in 5 countries, they have a very positive vision for our future because they know that we are just at the beginning of global expansion to make our car-sharing platform available all around the world.
first of all, letting employees know that they are asked to bring their authentic selves to work. We are proud of our diverse employee population, and want folks to know that they belong as Turo. We highlight upon this during the interview process as well as our onboarding sessions. We also have trainings by Paradigm Reach (online 3rd party) that are focused on diversity, equity and inclusion. We ask all of our new hires to take a number of those sessions so that they learn about a number of topics such as unconscious bias, micro-aggresssions, and more. We believe that it's because of this great foundation, that employees very quickly understand our culture, and how we have respect for one another as individuals, but also as colleagues. Our employees feel very comfortable sharing their ideas throughout the company.
not only providing each full-time employee with an annual $2,000 learning & development budget, but also by providing them with real-time feedback from weekly 1:1s with their managers. Additionally, we have a "check-in" every six months where the employee lists their areas of impact during the previous 6 months, where they feel they can have the most impact in the coming 6 month, how they best represented our Turo values, and they are also asked to share the areas in which they want to develop over the coming 6 months. The managers responds to the same prompts, which promotes very meaningful and healthy dialogues about goals and areas of growth.
They helped create them. We decided that it was time to evolve our "old" values as our business has now grown and changed. As part of that process, we surveyed our employees and asked them how they would describe our culture. We also interviewed a number of employees as well. We took those responses and landed with four new values: Bold, Driven, Expressive and Grounded. We launched these last October and have been working to weave them throughout the entire employee lifecycle.
numerous. First, we hold a week-long company conference every six months where we fly all employees either to San Francisco or Phoenix. We cover all meals, hotels, taxis and flights for that. This is a week of learning, but also lots of fun with evening team events or outings. We provide onsite lunch once a week, with an office full of snacks. We host a monthly-themed happy hour once a month. And for those who are rarely in the office, we still gather "socially" via a Slack application called Donut, where you are randomly paired with three other Turists for a 30 minute chat to get to know one another as people vs. just talking about work-related items. We also have Turo Affinity Groups (TAGs) led by employee that foster environments for folks to come together on various topics such as LGBTQ+, women, cancer-survivors, ex-law enforcement, etc.
living them daily. Here are just two of many verbatims from one of our recent engagement surveys: 1) "One of the very first things I heard from Andre (CEO) is that the company will succeed because of its people, the Turists. This really gave me a glimpse into the type of leadership style and organization I was stepping into; with servant leadership, respect and compassion for its people." 2) "I appreciate the multi-part all-hands Q+A series with Andre (CEO) and Alex (President). Although it may seem tedious to answer all of these questions, it's very apparent how important it is to Andre to make sure that employees' questions are addressed and answered. As we continue to scale as a company, I hope that the essence of this type of leadership remains to be true."
that we provide equity/stock to all full-time employees. We offer an annual company performance bonus for Director level and above, and quarterly spot bonus opportunities for those under the Director level. As mentioned above we offer $2,000 per person per year for continued education for their professional growth and development. We offer $100/month of Turo travel credit on our own platform. We cover 100% of medical, dental and vision premiums for employees and 75% premiums coverage for their dependents. We also provide employees with $50/month to pick their perk on a platform called Fringe. We also give all employees a membership to a portal called Origin that helps people with their financial planning as they have access to a certified financial advisor.
