Advocate Health

Why Advocate Health IS A MOST LOVED WORKPLACE®

Systemic Collaboration

EMPLOYEES COLLABORATE THROUGHOUT OUR COMPANY BY …

Employees collaborate throughout our company by truly working as a team. We believe that when we work together, great things happen – no matter where you are in the enterprise. Collaboration comes to life in many ways like doing what’s best for the greater good, using all teammates’ talents to achieve more together and collaborating with everyone we work with daily. We recognize that each teammate has a unique perspective, skills, talents, background and ways of thinking, and when we collaborate, we provide the best care and health outcomes to our patients and the communities we serve.

Positive Vision of the Future

EMPLOYEES AT OUR COMPANY HAVE A POSITIVE VISION FOR THE FUTURE BECAUSE …

Teammates at our company have a positive vision for the future because we came together as Advocate Health to do more, be better and go faster to help more people live well. Whether it’s translating research into outcomes, renovating business models to deliver better value or work more efficiently, innovation is key to a better future. We love when our teammates share new ideas or ask questions that help us advance our processes and delivery of care. Our teammates know that health care is a constantly changing environment, and we are committed to being a leader of the future.

Company Respect

WE SHOW RESPECT AND ENSURE THAT ALL VOICES ARE HEARD AND IDEAS ARE VALUED THROUGHOUT THE COMPANY BY …

We show respect and ensure that all voices are heard and ideas are valued by using one of our most valuable tools: the Voice of the Teammate, an intentional listening strategy to gather teammate input during their journey with us. In 2021, we designed the Anniversary Survey, distributed on each teammate’s work anniversary. An Onboarding survey is sent to new hires in their first 30 and 90 days of work. An Exit survey is sent 30 days after their last day. This allows us to learn on a continuous basis and hone our actions to best support the organization and the individual – which we firmly believe positively impacts caring for our patients.

Company Support / Killer Outcomes

WE SUPPORT OUR EMPLOYEES IN ACHIEVING THEIR PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL GOALS BY …

We support our employees in achieving their professional and personal goals by first listening actively and continually to the voice of our teammates. We seek to gain clear insights into the goals and aspirations at the individual teammate level, and we continually strive to cultivate a culture where servant leaders focus on serving our teammates through clear and expected leadership behaviors. We provide resources and career opportunities, including financial educational assistance, student programs to gain real world experiences as well as career advancement education and paths to earn associate degrees or health care related certification.

Alignment of Values

OUR COMPANY’S VALUES ARE ALIGNED WITH OUR EMPLOYEES BECAUSE …

Our company values are aligned with our employees because everyone believes their work is more than a job – it’s a calling – where humanity is at the center of everything we do. Our teammates, patients and community members always come first. Because of this, our values are brought to life by our teammates daily. As our Culture Coalition, comprised of leaders throughout our enterprise, is in the early stages of building a unified Advocate Health culture framework, our teammates are committed to championing our current culture and values with excitement for our future shared culture.

Company Practices / Love

PROGRAMS AND PRACTICES WE GIVE TO OUR EMPLOYEES THAT CREATE A LOVED WORKPLACE ARE …

…many, and include recognition opportunities and annual events to help teammates feel supported and appreciated. We believe it’s important to recognize teammates through eCards, Kudos, peer-to-peer honors, service milestone awards, an annual enterprise-wide teammate talent show, an annual Teammate Appreciation Week in gratitude for our teammates and our highest honor – the Pinnacle Award. One of the ways we help teammates to feel like they belong is through the office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion’s annual FOR ALL Conference. It attracts some of the nation’s foremost experts in the areas of culturally competent care, workplace inclusion and strategic diversity management.

CEO Strengths

OUR CEO SERVES AS A MODEL OF OUR COMPANY VALUES BY …

Our CEOs serve as a model of our company values by setting the north star for how teammates and leaders must operate to successfully achieve our mission. They set the direction, but more importantly, they are an example in the way they lead and care for our entire workforce as a collection of unique individuals with unique needs and aspirations. We strive to develop leaders who not only excel at what they do, but who also align tightly around a core way of doing and leading. We’re committed to developing servant leaders who extend our mission, cultivating purpose-driven careers and preparing our community of leaders for the future.

Benefits

EXAMPLES OF UNIQUE BENEFITS, BONUS, OR COMPENSATION WE PROVIDE ARE …

…monetary incentives for participating in healthy living initiatives. We invest in compensation through market adjustments, minimum wage increases, merit incentives and bonuses for patient-facing roles such as clinical teams and support services. We also want to support our teammates’ financial future and annually provide a contribution to retirement plans on top of matching. We offer many parental benefits such as parental leave, adoption reimbursement and fertility financial support.
