Why auticon UK IS A MOST LOVED WORKPLACE®

Systemic Collaboration

EMPLOYEES COLLABORATE THROUGHOUT OUR COMPANY BY …

Employees at auticon collaborate through strong Communities of Practice that bring together experts in each field to share ideas, create innovative solutions that improve the lives of neurodiverse people and make workplaces more neuroinclusive. auticon is a proud social innovator. Our achievements are testament to what a neurodiverse organisation can achieve. We are grateful for the recognition that our work has received internationally over the years and for the growing trust that our customers and investors place in us.

Positive Vision of the Future

EMPLOYEES AT OUR COMPANY HAVE A POSITIVE VISION FOR THE FUTURE BECAUSE …

We all strive together for the shared vision of building a more inclusive world.
Many of our autistic colleagues have struggled in the workplace before joining auticon– with stress, burnout, masking, not feeling understood, lacking workplace role-models – resulting in periods of unemployment and mental health issues. Auticon embraces the strengths of all our employees – shining a light on their skills, supporting their challenges and allowing them to be their authentic selves, providing representation in society of a thriving neurodivergent business. We give our employees the opportunity to grow, professionally and personally, own what they do and prove to themselves that they can make a difference at work and in the world. Regardless of whether we are autistic or not, nothing is more valuable than being proud of who we are and what we do.

Company Respect

WE SHOW RESPECT AND ENSURE THAT ALL VOICES ARE HEARD AND IDEAS ARE VALUED THROUGHOUT THE COMPANY BY …

We are a company with diverse people who think differently. It is a place where everyone is accepted and celebrated for who they are.
We foster a culture of open and honest communication and ensure that we harness the diverse skills and abilities of all our people by engaging a multitude of internal groups in the design of new products, services as well as internal processes. In order to hear from all voices, we stay away from needless hierarchy and take a human-centred approach to decision-making.
As a neurodiverse organisation, auticon is always buzzing with new ideas and creative energy to build innovative solutions that can help autistic people thrive in the workplace. This is what fires our social innovation engine – our people. It is the personal experiences of our team that give us the expertise, passion and can-do spirit to make the world more neuro-inclusive.

Company Support / Killer Outcomes

WE SUPPORT OUR EMPLOYEES IN ACHIEVING THEIR PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL GOALS BY …

A fundamental part of our team is our Job / Neuroinclusion Coaches. Each consultant has a Job Coach to support them with a person-centred plan for their personal wellbeing and ability to thrive at work.
The coach individually supports our autistic IT consultants to ensure a positive sense of well-being, development and efficiency at work, but also their successful collaboration with our client teams and other team members. An essential element of the coaching relationship is to foster self-advocacy to build the confidence of consultants in managing barriers or challenges for themselves rather than forming an over-reliance on the coach to resolve situations.
We also have Technical Managers who work closely with the consultants to provide technical guidance where necessary and build individualised career progression plans.

Alignment of Values

OUR COMPANY’S VALUES ARE ALIGNED WITH OUR EMPLOYEES BECAUSE …

Everyone who works at auticon has shared personal values with our business vision and mission – the endeavour to shift the dial on inclusion is something most of us have 1st or 2nd hand experience of – if we are not neurodivergent ourselves (and more than 80% of us are) then many of us have a family member or someone else close to us who has experienced difficulties as a neurodivergent person.
We have been established for 14 years and what has remained consistent during that time is our commitment to create an inclusive employment landscape for autistic people and the neurodivergent community at large.

Company Practices / Love

PROGRAMS AND PRACTICES WE GIVE TO OUR EMPLOYEES THAT CREATE A LOVED WORKPLACE ARE …

Auticon offers a comprehensive and competitive range of programs to ensure we are a workplace loved by all our employees. For some of our employees social interaction and even coming into an office can be a challenge but this doesn’t equate to not being sociable. We accommodate a range of programs to encourage connecting with each other in ways that are comfortable and adaptable to individual preferences. Some of these are:
Monthly office days: as a company that works in a hybrid fashion with many consultants working from home or at client’s office we have ‘office-days’ once a month as an opportunity to come and work together.
Online Board Game Club: Many of our employees share a love of board-games and those who want to are gifted an annual gaming membership to participate in a weekly online game-club together.
Access to Mental Health App: Mental health is a priority for us and so all employees have access to ‘Thrive’ – a mood-tracking app that offers tools for managing anxiety.
Support Cirle: In addition, our Job Coaches run a remote support circle once a week where all employees can come together and chat – this is often an opportunity to share experiences, ask for advise and feel like part of a broader team.

CEO Strengths

OUR CEO SERVES AS A MODEL OF OUR COMPANY VALUES BY …

Modelling the concept of “all for one and one for all”, Andrea Girlanda elevates his employees pushing them into the limelight, promoting their strengths, encouraging self-belief and advocating for better support, understanding and empathy. He strongly believes that by learning how to be inclusive of neurodivergent employees we make better businesses for ALL employees. The universal design of an inclusive approach is proven to improve employee happiness at work which in turn improves commercial results.

Benefits

EXAMPLES OF UNIQUE BENEFITS, BONUS, OR COMPENSATION WE PROVIDE ARE …

auticon’s salary and benefits package is competitive but these things do not build a high sense of self-worth on their own – we look at our ‘package’ of benefits from a deeper sense of establishing an improvement in the life-quality of our employees.
Once employed all our consultants are allocated a Job Coach, who has a background in working with autistic people – either as a clinical psychologist or as social-support worker. Our Job Coaches support philosophy is based on positive-psychology practises which focus on character-strengths, optimism, well-being and building self-esteem to help people flourish. Our consultants will have regular meetings with their Job Coaches on a ‘need’ basis which varies accordingly.
We encourage and sponsor professional development of all our employees – funding certifications in a variety programs.
