Blueground is a global company with 1,200 team members across 16 countries; each team member is encouraged to communicate with any BeeGee no matter their position. This fosters an environment of trust, growth (personally and professionally), and supports common goals on behalf of the company. In 2021 we announced our BG Nomads program, allowing team members to work from anywhere and have the ultimate flexibility. This in turn allowed team members to work from other Blueground markets, meet and work with people they never would have encountered, and brought collaboration to an all-time high.
Blueground values transparency and it actively communicates the company vision along with its values and principles on a regular basis through monthly All Hands meetings, company memos, and sharing each function’s OKRs. Team members are kept abreast of all news relating to the company from business plan adjustments to individual success stories. Not only does this allow our team members to be in loop on all company activities, but they can see exactly how their work fits into the larger company vision and future growth.

We achieve this to begin with, with our Global Onboarding process where we meet with all new BeeGees, through our pulse surveys that we try to capture everyone’s opinions, ideas and feedback and with our exit dialogues as well that we believe to be extremely valuable. Part of this success is also that we have our People Partnering team that consults, supports and coaches all our People managers globally, and that has created an upstream and downstream of communication and information across the entire entity of Blueground.
By creating a ‘Job Family Framework’ that allows team members to understand their position and what’s next in their role. This framework also allows them the flexibility to move around within their own function or another function based on their interests. The implementation of Blueground Nomads and providing people with the flexibility on where and how they want to work also supports them in achieving their goals and growth – they can travel to other markets and experience work in new cultures. Furthermore, we are fostering a culture of continuous learning and development to promote growth and excellence among its team members. This is achieved through leveraging internal and external learning resources and a quarterly per-person budget to invest in personal development. Blueground has an internal e-learning tool used to create, manage, and deliver online training resources to all team members (currently, over 14,000 resources are available). Also, Blueground has developed a 4 months internal leadership program (Leading Teams) to support our leaders in managing their teams efficiently. Additionally, there is a performance management framework designed to maintain and improve team members’ performance in line with organizational objectives. This includes regular feedback, annual/mid-year performance dialogues, and development plans. The process focuses on past performance, future goals, collaboration with colleagues, and manager feedback on performance and development.
We ensure that our values are clear and that our values and principles guide our daily activities and are embedded in our company culture. All newcomers are welcomed by the CEO who shares the origin of the company and what the Blueground values mean to him. We make it a priority to check in with team members and reflect on the values and make changes to where necessary. Our eNPS is constantly above 50 and our pulse surveys show team members have positive feelings around the way in which both leadership and the team display the company values.
