About the Company

Established in 2008 by Founder and CEO Michael Dorf, City Winery strives to deliver the highest-end combined culinary and cultural experience to our customers who are passionate in sharing wine, music, and culinary arts. We are a unique facility, combining a fully functioning winery with intimate concerts, food & wine classes, private events in a variety of configurations, and fine dining. We have created a compelling mix for our sophisticated clientele of foodies, and active cultural patrons—bringing the wine country experience to the middle of a large city.

Our Founder & CEO, Michael Dorf, is a forward-thinking visionary that is open about the exciting growth and future plans for City Winery. Each year Michael hosts BASECAMP, an annual leadership conference where company-wide management joins together to regroup and refocus on the year ahead and future of City Winery. The goal of Basecamp is to propel the organization forward so we can climb up the mountain and reach the summit as a unified group. Beginning in 2022, the Company plans to open 4 additional locations and eventually expand into international territory in the coming years. With growth comes endless opportunities for City Winery employees!

City Winery employees have access to a multitude of different programs such as complimentary family meals every day for staff, turkey giveaway to each employee around Thanksgiving, wine bottle gifts for the holidays, and taking great pride in diversity and inclusion by recognizing employees during holidays such as PRIDE, International Women’s Day, and more. We celebrate National Employee Appreciation Day across the entire organization each year. And of course, the core of the organization is steeped in philanthropy and giving back. He has anchored the organization in philanthropy and strongly believes in being a conscious business. What goes around, comes around and we have a role in caring for, nourishing, and helping repair the world. Over the years, Michael has been a leader in generously donating and leveraging resources to help environmental and philanthropic efforts whenever possible in creative and helpful ways for the communities.

Our response to COVID-19

Safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our people remains a top priority. City Winery took immediate action in ensuring the safety practices were instituted proactively at the outset of the pandemic. We implemented wellness checks and temperature screens, mask/testing/ vaccine mandates, offered rapid testing onsite to staff and guests at designated venues, provided COVID pay and Vaccine Pay for qualifying employees, and continue to enforce rigorous sanitation and cleaning standards as we come out of the pandemic.
