To help ensure that all employee voices are heard and respected, we created a DEI council which began in 2021 and is made up of a diverse group of Cohesians, representing all departments. Our DEI council is quickly becoming a pillar of our business. The council is divided into three workstreams with executive sponsorship. For example, the workplace workstream has individuals who are about fostering an inclusive work environment where people are truly recognized and valued as individuals. They are thoughtful about celebrating diversity and provide all employees with the opportunity to participate. We have also created five employee resource groups with more on the way soon.

Twice a year our leaders and managers host “tune-in” conversations with each of their employees to ensure that they are focused on, and working together to complete their customizable growth plan. Our employee resource groups are unique and full of passionate individuals that drive change, learning, and opportunities for engagement that any Cohesian can participate in. These create a loved workplace because it's a chance for employees from all over the globe to come together and celebrate one another, learn from each other or external speakers, and create a safe environment for employees to connect. From “Walk with Me” calls, to fireside chats with authors, conversations about personal well-being and stress management, to women empowerment and financial literacy. These groups create a workplace environment for all employees to love and to be able to thrive in.
Our CEO Sanjay Poonen models all of our RADIO Values because he truly believes in doing the right thing, for our people and for our customers. He is passionate about ensuring the safety of our customers’ data just as much as he is passionate about the personal well-being of our employees. He is transparent and trustworthy, and above all, he treats people with respect and integrity in everything he does. Since joining Cohesity in 2022, he has made a great effort in being approachable to all employees by traveling onsite to various offices to speak with not only the leaders in each region but also individual contributors.
At Cohesity, we’re encouraged to think big, and we take on dynamic goals that require innovative thinking. To do that, we know employees need time to themselves to recharge away from work. Whether it’s time off to be with family for special life moments or when a family member is ill, Cohesians have a variety of time off and leave programs available to take care of what is most important. We also offer company-wide Refresh Days. At Cohesity, we offer a few special days a year when the entire company shuts down, together, as a whole, and spend time doing things they enjoy most with people they care about most.
