We are great collaborators and love to talk to each other to be our best self, we use our new modern workspace to be creative and talk about who we are and what we do. We love to mix it up between working at the office and at home to get the best from each other. We have brilliant tech to help us keep moving forward and create great ideas for our colleagues and our brand. All of these things facilitate great communication and team working, bringing our shared vision and both our teams and personal objectives to life so we can make a difference to our future generations.
We shout about our strategy and make sure all our colleagues are on the same page. We love to have big conversations with all our colleagues by meeting regularly as one team, regular communications, business updates and giving everyone a voice is something we love to do. We encourage our colleagues to explore and ask questions – curiosity and challenging the norm really helps us grow. We all listen to each other and give regular feedback and check-ins to make sure our vision is lived and understood by all. We inspire one another to be the best we can be and we always ensure that everyone is clear about the role they play in delivering their own and Findel’s success.
Listening to our colleagues is really important to us, more importantly taking action is paramount to our success and credibility so we listen to what colleagues have to say through our Employee Voice survey and act on feedback as best we can, we can’t solve everything, but we have a really good go at doing what we can to take away the barriers to success, to help colleagues develop and support their wellness, to represent them by recognsing their hard work, length of time with our company through our awards, we listen to our new recruits to make sure we are hitting the mark and they get a great Findel experience. We have a great method of regularly talking and listening to each and every colleague through our performance system – we love to talk to each other, listen and act on feedback to get the best from each other and to keep us moving forward. We want our colleague journey to be an easy one, frictionless and above all take on board their feelings, ideas, views and recognise their contribution so everyone benefits. Our CEO’s door is always open, we don’t hide in offices, we share an open forum, we work collaboratively and as agile as we can to be our best self.
We love it when our colleagues do something great and achieve their goals. We actively promote development through our regular individual reviews and check-ins, our team training sessions, our volunteering programmes, a great leadership development programme that supports a big cohort of our leaders and up and coming talent which really draws upon their strengths so they become their best self, we provide a digital learning hub and access to specific training by providing access to tools/portals and systems which allow for tailored learning. We encourage everyone to be the best version of themselves. We also set development goals as part of our performance systems and we give constructive feedback so everything is two-way.
We listened, we talked and we understood what was important to our colleagues – through them, we created our four values of Care, Passion, Ambition and Ownership. It’s all about being clear, brave and being trusted so we engender that through our strategy, our workplace, the objectives we set, how we communicate and most importantly by relating one of our values to the feedback we give to our colleagues to help them grow and develop so they are their true best self. Our values reach out to our community too through our colleagues who support the wellbeing and situations of others. Our Findel Charity Foundation and our volunteering to help others in need goes a long way – we go beyond supporting our customers and spread our reach wide through our charity support and volunteering activities. We even measure how well our values are doing and always look at ways to improve things no matter how big or small. Our colleagues are what makes Findel and our values are a by-product of simply who we are and who we want to be – a business that makes a difference to future generations.
We make a brilliant difference though our ESG programme and the support we give to each other and our community – we can and do make a difference. Our Value of ‘Care’ and how this is ingrained in the fabric of our everyday life in Findel is testament to the colleagues that go the extra mile through volunteering, supporting each other, delivering their goals and listening to each other. We listen through our Employee Voice feedback, we encourage teams to work together through our collaborative workplace setting, we give lots of constructive feedback, we develop colleagues through out dedicated learning platforms and teacher led training, we assess our leaders thought PRINT to understand what makes them tick, we encourage self-reflection and the acknowledgement and understanding of others which is helping us to work together and to get the best from each other. We provide volunteering opportunities, we support colleagues with wellness activities and our employee assistance programmes, we provide benefits and discounts to support colleagues and their families, and we work in a hybrid way with a new agile workspace to allow our colleagues to be creative but above all we try and do what is best as best we can.
Our CEO just loves Findel and gets stuck in to get the job done. He oozes Findel passion in everything he does and always encourages teams to be ambitious, aim high, drive results and to share in the success whilst having fun along the way. He talks passionately about what we do and the colleagues that do it. Colleagues, customers and suppliers are his number one priority – he listens to them, recognises the challenges and rises up to solve the problems by empowering teams to make a positive difference. He drives our values right from the top, gets stuck in, is always visible and has an open door to listen to anyone at any time.

We supported each and every colleague through the pandemic by ensuring 90% of our colleagues worked at home, were safe and well. We enabled Hybrid Working within 24 hours and enabled colleagues to work from home through our brilliant technical team. We paid everyone 100% of their pay and we safeguarded jobs. We provided activities for our colleagues children, made sure we provided regular updates, communicated progress throughout the pandemic, we checked-in with everyone regularly, we provided guidance and support to make sure everyone understood our governments rules, we provided flu vaccinations and access to online interactive mental health sessions. Once back, we invested half a million pound in a new hybrid and collaborative work environment, we established safe working protocols in our offices and warehouse, we managed absence expertly well and supported those colleagues who were off-work, we provided everyone with a Christmas Hamper when it was really tough too. Our flexible working arrangements coupled with a fantastic set of colleagues who supported each other made the difference – we thank them for all they did.
