In addition to our digital collaboration tools like Slack and Google Meet, we bring FlyMates together through regular all-company meetings that are used to give the entire organization an overview of important business issues as well as people-related topics. Departments across the org also host a number of Town Halls, where they can give FlyMates updates on specific projects.
We have a corporate mission & vision statement – it’s something that FlyMates first become familiar with during their interactive orientation (called Flying Start) and something that is constantly reflected across brand components. What’s so unique here is that what we do really matters to peoples’ everyday lives. The payments we deliver are high-stakes, high-value – they are often the most important payments people will make (tuition, medical bills, or that once in a lifetime trip), I think one FlyMates summed it up the best. Derrick, in our Singapore office, said: “The world of payments is complicated and not visible to everyone. I wanted to be part of a payments company that’s making a big impact, and I’m proud that Flywire is doing just that”
I think this stems from FlyMates playing a huge role in shaping who we are. This extends as far back to one of the company’s first offsites where the team sketched out our six corporate values that still exist today. Today, you see this in the Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) like FlyBlack, Flywire Pride, Women of Flywire, and more, that offer safe spaces for FlyMates to come together, connect around shared interests, and foster meaningful conversations.
Work-life harmony. Flywire believes that FlyMates should have opportunities to enjoy time away from work to help balance their lives. We also recognize that FlyMates have diverse needs for paid time-off from work, which is why we offer a number of flexible time off types including Paid Time Off, Floating Days, Digital Disconnect Days, FlyBetter Days, Parental Leave and more!
We define our values by the virtues and behaviors that shape them. These values guide us in all that we do, in hiring, performance, and day-to-day interactions with both FlyMates and our customers.

Mike (our CEO) is very vocal and visible about how he maintains fulfillment through time spent with his family. There was one time where we had just reported financial results and he had a whole slew of investor calls that coincided with one of his son’s soccer games. Mike went to his son’s game, and took one of the investor calls from there, and was open and honest about it. He also shared that example with our entire company with the office to make a statement that it’s OK to carve out time to spend time family, our loved ones, etc.
We really look at FlyMates and treat them as complete individuals – not just employees at work and our benefits reflect our belief that FlyMates can bring their “whole selves” to work. Here are some of the features of our benefits
