Everything from "always hunting" to being "better together" to creating "work that matters" – and these values have served us through a pandemic, a time of great societal unrest and many changes to the way people work. Thirty four years later, we are solidly a middle-class agency with 250 plus employees across the world and HUNTER is now also part of a best-in-class global network of communications agencies. Through it all, Hunter has maintained the boutique, family-oriented culture that our employees know and love.

prioritizing the agency’s DEI efforts and our employee-led Action Group which was founded in 2020 with the mission of developing strategies and actions that make anti-racist efforts a prominent part of our industry and permanent culture, and has now evolved to focus on more aspects of inclusion, diversity, equality and accessibility. Led by the agency’s first DEI manager, efforts like launching affinity groups and making more space for conversation, including a Black Employee Resource Group and mentoring circles, have created a culture of respect and inclusion and help establish trust among colleagues.

Training in professional areas is a tremendous benefit that we provide – and it includes upskilling in topics that benefit the work and the client service, but also training and resources in areas like managing burnout and leading diverse teams to support our staff in all aspects of work. Annually, the agency brings together its staff for our marquee HCC (Hunter Community College) event where we provide external expert training and development in areas that the staff have requested (e.g., creativity and presentation skills).

Our CEO, Grace Leong, is in and of the work, staying highly involved in client service and rolling up her sleeves to dive into all aspects of the work, from brainstorming to strategic plan development. Grace was the agency’s first employee and now, oversees the firm as an accessible leader with an open door policy and those qualities are impressed upon the firm's Business Leadership and Specialty Leadership teams.

Over the past year, we continued to adapt to our staff’s needs and today’s ways of working. We launched a Work from Anywhere policy, providing the ability to work outside of our office headquarters for four weeks per year, in addition to a hybrid return to office model. We also have a competitive parental leave policy offering 16 weeks of paid time off for new moms and dads, and we offer robust benefits in health, dental, 401k, insurances, Employee Assistance Programs and other key areas.
