We have curated a strong program that offers employees continued training on our products and services so that our teams feel confident in engaging with current and potential clients. We have recently launched growth plans for every single employee so that each of them knows the career trajectory they are on. Leadership places an emphasis on growth and development for our people. Our C-Suite encourages our team to continue to be lifelong learners and to aspire to grow within our organization. We have created a work environment in where our people know they can grow to the next level here. Our career paths outline where an employee can go in 1 year, 2 years etc. Growth extends into our recruiting processes, as we aim to interview internally for open roles before we look externally. We place an emphasis on our referral programs so that our people bring in the people they believe are the best fit for our roles and our organization. We have built an internal learning catalog for our employees for upskilling and coaching, not to mention we have our own company Professional Coach that works with our employees 1:1.

Providing safe spaces for our people through our People + Culture efforts and initiatives. These efforts and initiatives include cultural awareness events, trainings and celebrations. We survey our people on a yearly basis to get a pulse check on the employee experience. We have policies that have been created which allow our people to provide anonymous feedback and ask anonymous questions. The People + Culture Team facilitate 1:1 employee check-in’s semi-annually so that employees have that facetime with our department. We also facilitate semi-annual review cycles for employees to reflect on their performance and have a two-way conversation with their manager about feedback and growth. We facilitate exit interviews with every employee who decides to leave the company to give them the opportunity to share their feedback and give us recommendations for creating a better workplace.

Facilitating employee reviews every 6 months. Our review cycles include a self-reflection, a manager reflection, two-way feedback meeting, and managers have a calibration session with HR. Additionally, we have a Professional Development Program which provides our people with external training opportunities which include tuition reimbursement, certification programs, workshop and conference attendance, etc. We have an internal Professional Coach which provides our employees with a catalog of skill development options where they can meet with the coach 1:1 to work on any skills they feel are necessary to grow professionally. We offer continued live workshops on a variety of different topics with a focus on upskilling such as treating people with respect, first impressions, building empathy, effective feedback, etc. In addition to live workshops, we share video series to our people for those who can’t participate in live workshops.

It provides a holistic view of our people culture. Our company values are embedded into the lifecycle of our employee experience. We begin to highlight our company values (own it, empower, team, respect, excel) from the very beginning of the recruitment process. Our job descriptions highlight our company values as a part of the “who we are section,” because our values are an integral part of the hiring process. We want to hire for values fit not culture fits. We are asking values-based questions during the interview process to get an idea of how candidates can add value to the organization. Once a candidate is selected, our onboarding process has our values integrated into the training process. We ensure that our employees understand what our values mean to us and how we want them to think about those values as they get acclimated to their teams and their role.

Creating a holistic employee environment focused on financial health, mental health, physical health. Those are the three pillars that we aim towards when creating programs and practices that create a loved workplace. The newest program that encompasses all three pillars is our partnership with a lifestyle spending account called Benepass. We realized that historically programs only applied to a small percentage of our people which resulted in low usage of those programs. This year we wanted to offer our people the opportunity to pick and choose the benefits they needed based on their own identity. Every employee has a monthly budget for Wellness Spend, Flexible Spend, and Work from Home Spend. Employees are empowered to use their budget however fits best with their lifestyle. Employees have loved this new program and have felt so grateful that we are recognizing that everyone’s needs are different.

Empowering our people. The right leader needs to be able to motivate their people to feel empowered in their role. Our CEO goes the extra mile to empower, and he does this by being PRESENT. Visibility is the one thing I have known to be extremely important to our CEO. He attends every all-hands meeting, every company offsite, every award ceremony etc. He shows up. He makes time to be available to our employees. He makes the time to say hello to people and shake people’s hands. I have never seen a CEO who is so invested in knowing peoples name and roles. Our people take his leadership very seriously because he encourages our people to ask tough questions, to be innovative, to bring their expertise to the table. He wants everyone to feel empowered to come to work and know that they are making a difference in our industry. Lastly, he says thank you. He is constantly recognizing good work and he is appreciative of how everyone contributes to the success of this organization.

Yearly bonuses are a part of every employee package. 50% of that bonus is individual performance related and 50% is company performance related.
