Sysco Corporation

Why Sysco Corporation IS A MOST LOVED WORKPLACE®

Systemic Collaboration

EMPLOYEES COLLABORATE THROUGHOUT OUR COMPANY BY …

As a global organization with 70,000 colleagues, building a culture where all colleagues feel connected is critical to who we are and what we do. Sysco has invested in technology to support employee collaboration across our global organization, including an employee mobile app that serves as a platform to connect and engage our colleagues. Sysco can now easily host quarterly town halls for all its colleagues to attend and hear updates from our CEO and other senior leaders.

Positive Vision of the Future

EMPLOYEES AT OUR COMPANY HAVE A POSITIVE VISION FOR THE FUTURE BECAUSE …

In 2020, Sysco unveiled our new Purpose – Connecting the world to share food and care for one another — which aligns our colleagues globally around a shared purpose that grounds them in everything they do at Sysco, from the decisions they make to how they lead. Our purpose also fuels our business strategy and Recipe for Growth future. Five strategic pillars define this strategy which feeds and creates a powerful growth cycle. Our colleagues see Sysco as defining the future of foodservice by building customer-centric, retail-like capabilities for our customers and investing in our people, technology, and supply chain to deliver a better experience for our customers and our colleagues.

Company Respect

WE SHOW RESPECT AND ENSURE THAT ALL VOICES ARE HEARD AND IDEAS ARE VALUED THROUGHOUT THE COMPANY BY …

Our colleagues and leaders are expected to create a respectful environment where everyone is heard – it’s a collective effort and a priority. Through our annual Sysco Speaks survey, colleagues can anonymously provide input on the organization’s direction and employee experience. The results of this survey and feedback from Real Talk Dialogues and Better Together town halls are used to help shape Sysco’s future. Also, our CEO and other senior leaders visit sites to hear directly from our colleagues.

Company Support / Killer Outcomes

WE SUPPORT OUR EMPLOYEES IN ACHIEVING THEIR PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL GOALS BY …

Every leader at Sysco works with colleagues to identify annual goals to work towards, which includes goals tied to DEI initiatives. While goals are aligned with our Purpose and Recipe for Growth strategy, we also encourage colleagues to find opportunities for professional development and stretch goals to challenge themselves. Sysco also offers continued education opportunities for our colleagues through an education reimbursement program. For colleagues interested in pursuing leadership opportunities, Sysco implemented a leadership development program in 2020. Through this program, we identify future Sysco leaders and help them develop their leadership skills with training and mentorships.

Alignment of Values

OUR COMPANY’S VALUES ARE ALIGNED WITH OUR EMPLOYEES BECAUSE …

At Sysco, we know how important it is for our colleagues and business to work towards the same goals. Our Purpose, mission, and values support our colleagues’ desire to make a difference, not only for our customers but in the communities in which we operate. Whether volunteering in the community or establishing aggressive climate goals, our commitment to care for people is why our colleagues want to work at Sysco and our customers want to partner with us. Our employees come to work knowing their contribution makes a difference in our communities.

Company Practices / Love

PROGRAMS AND PRACTICES WE GIVE TO OUR EMPLOYEES THAT CREATE A LOVED WORKPLACE ARE …

Our employees are proud to work for the global foodservice leader and appreciate that our Purpose means more than just delivering groceries. They love to help put food on the table for life’s special moments and are like family in our customers’ kitchens and supply rooms worldwide. More than 200 colleagues volunteered to be global DEI Ambassadors across our lines of business, reflecting their enthusiasm for our work to create an inclusive environment for all. Our colleagues also value our 11 colleague resource groups, hunger relief, volunteer recognition programs, bold climate action and our recently launched employee recognition platform, bravo!.

CEO Strengths

OUR CEO SERVES AS A MODEL OF OUR COMPANY VALUES BY …

Kevin Hourican, Sysco’s president and chief executive officer, models our company values through his public commitment to our communities, climate goals, sustainability efforts, and public commitment to creating an inclusive and equitable workplace. Sysco’s Executive Leadership Team is more gender and racially diverse than it has been in Sysco’s history, with nearly 50% diversity. Kevin also volunteers regularly alongside Sysco colleagues in support of our non-profit partnerships. Kevin values direct colleague feedback, traveling to our operating sites to hold town halls and meeting directly with colleagues when possible, including hosting regular small group lunch meetings with sales representatives.

Benefits

EXAMPLES OF UNIQUE BENEFITS, BONUS, OR COMPENSATION WE PROVIDE ARE …

Our colleagues benefit from the hard work and commitment they put into growing our company. Therefore, Sysco offers our colleagues the opportunity to invest in our company through our Employee Stock Purchase Program, offered at a 15% discount. We offer competitive compensation and benefits programs based on employees’ performance. Another unique benefit is Sysco’s Disaster Relief Foundation.
