With thousands of employees spread at dozens of sites on over 300 programs, collaboration can be challenging, but our employees can do so through central platforms such as SharePoint and email, regular check-ins, and our project management platforms which can vary based on specific customer needs. Most importantly, though, Valiant fosters a culture of collaboration by encouraging open communication, celebrating team successes through platforms such as Valiant Applause, and providing opportunities for employees to engage regularly, through video-conferencing on TEAMS, with those inside and outside their project or division.
Our employees have a positive vision for the future not only because they can see Valiant’s investments in our people and in the future growth and that we ensure we communicate regularly and transparently to our people, as well as provide opportunities for professional growth, and celebrate successes and milestones but they believe in our mission. In our latest employee engagement survey 93% surveyed stated they are very proud of the work they do and 90% felt their contributions are important to the success of their team. Valiant employees are proud of their work supporting of our soldiers throughout the world and know they are making a real difference in ensuring a safer world for all of us.
82% of our employees surveyed in the engagement survey stated the people of all cultures and backgrounds are respected and valued at Valiant and 80% said all Valiant employees have access to equal employment opportunities regardless of their different cultural backgrounds. Our strong Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program has helped solidify those positive feelings about Valiant’s workplace. Valiant has invested in our DE&I program with the purchase of a new DE&I technology solution called Diversity Sidekick. This platform has improved our diversity recruiting pipeline by providing Valiant additional diverse candidate for our strategic vacancies, it provides DE&I training, a bias scanner for all communications, and it also has survey options so our employees can tell us real-time how we are doing from a DE&I perspective.
In addition, Valiant has instituted a constant and continuous feedback loop so our employees can provide us honest assessments on how we are doing in general, on any topic. This feedback loop consists of new hire surveys, pulse surveys, stay-interviews, skip-level interviews, and exit interviews. We also have a link for employee suggestions and questions on our intranet site. This allows us to quickly pivot to areas that may need more attention and continue to invest more in programs that are well received. 79% of our employees stated they are comfortable providing feedback to their colleagues and supervisors so our tactics are working.
Valiant has recently created a development program for our high potential employees called NextExec. We also focus on annual succession planning with our UpNext program, which also provides in depth development plans for our next level managers. We also provide additional training programs like Leadership Mastermind, for emerging managers, PM Program of Excellence Modules for all our people managers, and Valiant University, our new online platform that provides 9500 training opportunities for our employees around the globe. And lastly Valiant has an annual Internship Program so we can build relationships early with prospective new Valianteers.

Innovation: We encourage our people to embrace new ideas and deliver insightful solutions, and give them the tools and resources to do just that.
Excellence: Our people are committed to delivering the best solutions to every challenge, constantly raising the bar to execute with excellence. Our engagement survey noted that 76% stated they know Valiant’s core values and identifies well with them. That is a true indicator that our values are aligned with our employees.
Valiant just launched Building an Exceptional Valiant campaign, which highlights the multitude of investments that Valiant is making in our people. The Building an Exceptional Valiant initiative is made up of four important pillars:
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
The first pillar is focused on our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) program, which includes Valiant’s new DEI policy and Equal Employment Opportunity statement, as well four Employee Resource Groups. Also, as part of our DEI investment, we are implementing Diversity Sidekick, a DEI software that will increase our diversity pipeline for recruiting and provide training on DEI.
Benefits & Wellness
The second pillar focuses on Valiant’s Benefits and Wellness programs. Valiant has focused on enhancing employee benefit to include adding bonding leave for both parents, as well as a new benefit to help offset the cost of infertility services. And we also enhanced our Employee Assistance Program to better suit the needs of our employees throughout the globe. We were able to add these benefits, all while keeping our 2023 benefit renewals flat. And lastly Valiant has purchased a new wellness platform called Virgin Pulse, this tool will help educate our employees on the importance of wellness and self-care by providing fun wellness challenges, training and additional wellness resources.
Rewards & Recognition
The third pillar is the Rewards and Recognition program. Valiant has invested in a new online platform, called Valiant Applause, for recognizing all the great work our employees do around the world. Also, as part of our rewards programs, we are currently working to provide Total Compensation Statements that includes the monetary cost of all forms of compensation, including gross wages and extra financial compensation (such as bonuses or commissions), as well as the employer-paid portion of retirement plan contributions, insurance premiums, and paid time off benefits. These statements communicate the entire value of our total compensation package, which most employees never have the benefit of seeing or realizing.
Enhancing the Employee Experience (E3)
Finally, the fourth pillar is called E3. This pillar is focused on enhancing the employee experience for our employees. Our responsibility is to ensure the overall employee experience here at Valiant is exceptional. We all play a role in ensuring our workplace is inclusive and professional and in creating a culture conducive to learning and fostering innovative thought, delivering a truly exceptional employee experience.
Leading by Example: Dan Corbett consistently demonstrates integrity, strives for excellence in his work, and fosters a culture of innovation. Dan communicates our values clearly and often, and provides examples of how they are being put into practice. Dan also recognizes and rewards excellence on a regular basis. When employees demonstrate excellence in their work, Dan is quick to recognize and reward their efforts through our public recognition platform, Valiant Applause or through Valiant’s Excellence Awards as well as spot bonuses.
We provide very competitive wages and have defined bonus plans, to include a sales incentive plan, on-the-spot bonus and a discretionary bonus plan. Understanding the importance of competitive wages and benefits is key for recruiting but for long term retention, we provide total compensation statements, which are critical for educating our workforce on Valiant’s total investment in them as an employee. These statements detail a breakdown of the total cost of their compensation to include their base pay, bonus, overtime, as well as all the employer paid costs, which employees tend to forget, to include the cost of paid time off, sick leave, 401k match and employer paid portion of their benefits cost. These statements help employees understand their total rewards associated with working for Valiant and they appreciate these rewards provided for their commitment, loyalty, hard work and dedication.
