Building on momentum in 2022, we are poised for a year of delivery in 2023. Our shareholders (Delta Air Lines and Virgin Group), our partners and suppliers, and most importantly our customers and our people, have shown their unwavering belief and conviction in all of us. They are a constant source of support and inspiration for which we owe them deep gratitude.
There are many different forums in which feedback is shared and heard; through our Ground Committees; all pilot and all cabin crew calls; in team meetings; via our Belonging networks; one-to-ones and our People Product Champion forum, to name a few.
How we listen and act on feedback is critical. We are committed to ensuring that colleagues have opportunities to make their voice heard.
We provide our people with a one-stop shop for their learning needs via our Learning Locker digital platform. This brings together all compliance training, together with any operational, job related or personal & professional development into one place. Our learning locker was designed with our people in mind, ensuring it’s accessible at any time, in any place, wherever our colleagues are in the world.
This acknowledges the global nature of our company, and supports different learning styles. Learning can be accessed in bite-size format and has been designed to be administered at the point of need to support knowledge retention. All of this is co-created, with representatives from across Virgin Atlantic, our ‘People Product Champions’.
Our Velocityx plan, will deliver amazing things. It will accelerate us to our blazing best, bringing results through experiences and partnership. But being part of Virgin Atlantic means more than just results. It is about how we get them, and the values we place at the core of our Velocityx journey will help us thread love through every move we make. Through our Passport to Change community Programme we aim to inspire and empower young people from all corners of society to engage with STEM and build careers for the future. We’re proud to see many of our own employees get involved, acting as mentors, role-models, and change-makers.
In 2023 we re-launched our refreshed Springboard women’s development programme, to support our women to feel at their best at home and in the workplace.
Our Be Yourself Digital learning has been designed to create empathy and understanding to drive an inclusive environment where colleagues can truly be themselves.
Our CEO, Shai Weiss, acts as our moral compass, always putting our people at the heart of leadership team decision making. He recognises that our people are our greatest asset – our ‘secret sauce’ – as he says.
