Our employees collaborate throughout our company by consistently communicating. We value fresh ideas and innovation, and are not afraid to ask the room for its opinion. We believe that no one is an expert at anything and there is always room for growth, encouraging more touchpoints with each other as we work toward our collective goal. On top of our open concept office space, we also have a door-always-open policy to encourage communication. Additionally, we also have a monthly department meeting where all our leaders share any opportunities and challenges.
Employees at our company have a positive vision for the future because we’re all on the same page, which is helping small business owners achieve their dreams. There’s no miscommunication about what we’re trying to do and where we’re taking the business. As a people-first company, we believe in full transparency and our employees are all here because they believe strongly in our mission. Additionally, we provide robust training and development opportunities. We also prioritize placing people in roles to showcase their strengths, have an impact and take action to build their own success – directly correlating to building a foundation at VizyPay.
We show respect and ensure that all voices are heard and ideas are valued throughout the company by living our value of transparency. We hold nothing back and expect our employees to feel empowered to do the same. We greatly encourage people to bring their true selves to work and ask them to share their ideas. We take this a step further though ensuring people have what they need to go after those and see their solution in action. Everyone is capable of great ideas, and we value our employees to help them see the impact of their ideas.
Our goal at VizyPay is to grow and develop talent. As we often hire from outside the industry, this takes on a new meaning as we teach someone the ropes of payments during our involved onboarding process. We allow new hires to shadow departments and meet with our leaders so they can see where their strengths may be of value. We provide constant training and have several people who forged their own path through sharing their personal goals and trusting the company to pave a way for them to pursue them. Additionally, we implemented an ambassador program, where we pair new hires with established employees to give them a resource for any questions they may have about the company or payments industry.
Our company values are aligned with our employees because we hire our employees first and foremost based on culture fit. We believe in company culture, transparency and being the voice of small businesses. We know for a fact that every single person on our team has values that align with ours because we hire based on what people have to say here and now. At VizyPay, a resume is never the first impression, or your last. In doing this, we are more able to hire in an authentic way built upon transparency about who they are and who we are as a company.
We host a weekly themed happy hour and several annual parties to encourage people to build relationships outside of work. Additionally, we have employee-run committees, including ones focused on volunteering, diversity, equity and inclusion, team building and providing ways to support small businesses in everyday life. Our employees volunteer together, attend concerts together and support each other’s families. On top of that, during work hours we encourage people to bring their authentic selves, and work together to build them a career that they enjoy doing. We know that a company cannot achieve anything without happy employees, and put maintaining our culture above all else.
Our CEO was the very first employee. He has set the standard for what company culture at VizyPay is since before day one. Our CEO Austin Mac Nab gets to know every employee on a personal level. The VizyPay team is an extension of his family, and he truly believes in the “work hard, play hard” environment. Austin is among the first people in the door in the morning and last to leave at night. He embodies our company culture, practices full transparency and advocates for small businesses nationwide through his efforts at VizyPay.
Our in-office perks are unrivaled. When we opened our new office late last year, we unveiled our on-site bar and event space. We have an entire recreation area with ping pong, shuffleboard and foosball, along with couches to help employees relax and take a break. We have catered lunches from local businesses once a month and roll out a snack cart twice a day, every day. We have extreme flexibility at our company, we don’t care about the number of hours someone works, as long as they take care to finish the job. Additionally, the #TeamVizy bond lives on outside the doors. Our team is and acts as a team even outside of work activities.
During the pandemic, we took great care to support our new 1099 sales partners. As many people left their previous jobs, VizyPay did the opposite and onboarded hundreds of new 1099s. We hit the gas to recruit as many people as we could that were affected by the pandemic in hopes to provide the 1099 role as another iron in the fire or opportunity to keep their lives steady. We also moved employees whose roles stalled to other departments instead of laying someone off. Even if they couldn’t do their normal job, we were still going to find something for our employees before letting anyone face unemployment in a global pandemic.
