We work in a brand-new office that was custom designed and built with our daily comfort in mind. Team meetings happen frequently in our various meeting rooms and gathering spots in the building, and we have the best in communication technology for work that is done remotely away from our corporate headquarters.
We are a national company rooted from a small family-owned atmosphere. Employees are invited quarterly to small group lunches with one of ten company executives. All employees and executives participate. The purpose is to have candid discussions about the company, our goals, and who we each are personally. We believe in getting to know one another to foster true caring beyond our company mission. As adults we spend more awake hours with our coworkers than we do with our families. We view ourselves as a second family to one another. Upcoming policy changes are now discussed in advance openly. Employees are able to ask questions and share their honest opinions for consideration before putting them into place.
We develop our employees and hire from within. 40% of our employees have been with the company for 10 years or more. Our longest time employees mentor existing staff and take their succession planning very seriously. Alot of cross training and professional development coaching happens between our staff members to share knowledge and foster teamwork.
We have an all for one and one for all approach. Yearly bonuses are not based on the individual, but on the company’s overall financial growth. We have an employee created and driven Engagement Committee. The “E3 Team” (Enhancing Employee Experience) organizes several events each month that all employees are invited to partake in. Some to name a few are: Employee Chili Cook Off, Christmas Cookie Exchange party, Meatball March Madness, Employee Appreciation Day gifts, Food truck visits, corporate challenge walk/run, company kickball team, lunch hour games, team volunteering at local charities, and an employee “Shout Out” board.
