Part of our team member selection process is searching for growth-minded individuals. This is for personal growth and the growth of the brand. Your 3rd Spot offers a social dining experience unlike anything in our industry and our team is aware of their unique ability to make each guest feel “seen” and the magic they are able to create with their hospitality.

When creating the Your 3rd Spot brand, we didn’t have a building or a concept- we started with our values, what we found to be important in ourselves and our team members. The design of our space, offerings and roles was built around these values.
Beyond that, we look to hire with people who have values that align with ours. We look to hire team members who are gritty, empathetic, self-aware, optimistic and adaptable. We found that if you’ve demonstrated these traits, our values come easy.
Many of our team members and a majority of our applicants have been guests and apply because they want to be part of the culture.

Our CEO serves as a model of our company values by clearly and passionately communicating “the why” behind them from the very first point of connection and consistently reinforcing throughout onboarding and beyond. He utilizes storytelling, parables, and real-world examples to paint a relatable picture so the team can understand the values to a level where they can apply them across situations. He gets these values across through different channels (premeals, emails, one-on-one coaching) so they are reinforced and become part of the nomenclature of the brand. This is best on display at orientation, which he hosts, that focuses on the story and values of the team versus offerings and policies- its all about connecting with the culture.

We show respect and ensure that all voices are heard and ideas are valued throughout the company by communicating and enforcing an open door policy from day one. Ideas are considered on their merits rather than by hierarchy or seniority. The company mantra “data over ego” encourages any thoughtful, fact backed idea to be brought to fruition. Another company mantra “It can only suck once” shows a spirit of openness to to trying new things in the spirit of evolution and team growth. It’s not about a mistake made or a “bad” idea, it’s about the iteration and the confidence to speak up with you have another one.

Communication and collaboration are pillars of the team member experience. We have daily premeals and monthly department meetings where we connect and share what is going on and work together to solve problems.
We take great pride in offering an “empowered” environment where team members work together on teams to solve problems and evolve systems and processes.
We consider ourselves to be “Kaizen”, constantly evolving and trying to improve- this is not done by one person, but the collective efforts of our team.

When we do better, we all do better. Team has a higher than industry average base compensation. EVERY role also shares in a Service Charge pool (20% of all F&B purchases). This encourages support of each other as everyone contributes to the success of team through great hospitality and service.
We also offer a 401(k) match and health insurance.
