About David Bywater

David Bywater was named Chief Executive Officer of Vivint Smart Home in June of this year. Bywater joined Vivint Smart Home after serving as CEO of Vivint Solar for the previous five years, where he oversaw significant efficiency gains across the company and successfully lead to Vivint Solar being acquired by Sun Run in a deal worth $3.2B. Prior to Vivint Solar, Bywater served as chief operating officer of Vivint Smart Home where he was responsible for customer operations, human resources, field service and supply chain management. Prior to his time with Vivint, Mr. Bywater held executive positions at Xerox as the chief operating officer for its state government services businesses, and at Affiliated Computer Services (ACS), one of the largest BPO and ITO companies in the world, managing several business units that encapsulated more than 60 different companies. Earlier in his career, Bywater served as a Senior Manager at Bain and was a consultant at Monitor, and is a graduate of BYU and Harvard Business School.
