About Gregory Marino

Gregory Marino is the Chief Executive Officer of Kaplan North America, a recognized leader and innovator in education that offers a broad array of services to individuals, institutions, and employers, tailored to deliver results that establish and nurture lifelong relationships, continuously serving students and partners throughout their educational and professional journeys.

Throughout his career, Marino has been a pioneer in delivering online educational solutions focused on student success and outcomes.

Since joining Kaplan in 1993, Marino has served in numerous senior roles and subsequently played an integral role building the former Kaplan University’s highly successful student-focused service model and innovative technology platform. Under his leadership, Kaplan University was acquired in 2018 by Purdue University and began operating as Purdue University Global. This disruptive acquisition of Kaplan University by Purdue was heralded as a landmark transaction in the higher education industry, whereby for the first time a for-profit institution was converted to a non-profit institution owned by a public entity. He then led the business’s transition into a Managed Services Provider, dedicated to building long-term strategic partnerships with higher education institutions and employers to address their educational needs.

In 2020, he was named to lead all of Kaplan’s North American businesses, and is responsible for managing a team of approximately 5,000 dedicated employees who deliver a wide variety of education services, including higher and professional education, test preparation, corporate and leadership training and student recruitment, online enablement, and other university support services.

Gregory Marino CEO of Kaplan earned an MBA and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Maryland University College. He previously served on the Board of Directors for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance and was an executive committee member of the Young Presidents’ Organization. In 2019, 2020, and 2021, Florida Trend Magazine named Gregory Marino to the Florida 500, the most influential executives in more than 60 economic sectors throughout the state.
